Community

Ayurveda is the practice of making small changes to live in harmony with our environment, and this includes living in harmony with our community.

As a locally-run, woman-owned small business, East Bay Ayurveda is proud of the community that we reside in and makes every effort to support our fellow community members, including the people, organizations, and businesses of the Bay Area that are working to make our world a more just place.

We partner with local organizations that focus on sustainable community building. We support organizations that cultivate a closer relationship with our land, community and food. These partnerships are based on mutual support and immersive, holistic, nature-based, community-focused healing.

We are proud to reside in West Oakland's Hollis Oak Plaza and have joined forces with our neighboring businesses to create the Hollis Oak Collective, where we host events and support each other through partnership and charity work.

East Bay Ayurveda can refer patients to Dr. Namyata Pathak-Gandhi as our main Ayurvedic Doctor, as we are building a health team that can best serve you. We are linking together systems to be able to share health information, protocols and therapy programs in a HIPPA compliant platform. For those who have extensive health goals as well as those who just want to make sure they are doing the best they can to stay healthy and vibrant, are welcome to book a session with her.

Dr. Namyata Pathak-Gandhi MD, BAMS in Ayurveda (also known as Dr. Nami), is an extensively trained integrative physician and Ayurvedic Doctor/Vaidya and Scientist at Ayu.Care. Dr. Nami practices out of her Central Fremont office and offers online consultations. To learn more, visit Dr. Nami's website, or call (650) 334-4024 to book an appointment.

We purchase and sell herbal tinctures handcrafted from a local Berkeley community garden. Spiral Gardens Community Food Security Gardens mission is to improve community health and sustainability by providing access to nutritious and affordable produce, promoting a strong local food system, and encouraging productive use of urban soil.
We encourage you to participate by purchasing from their community farm, nursery, and produce stand.

We acknowledge that we are living and working on Ohlone Land. 1% of all proceeds from East Bay Ayurveda's product and single service sales in 2021 went towards the Sogorea Te' Land Trust, an urban Indigenous women-led land trust based in the San Francisco Bay Area that facilitates the return of Indigenous land to Indigenous people.

We are proud members of United Plant Savers, which protects native medicinal plants in North America.

We are also members with the Sonoma County Herb Exchange & Association and purchase their partner farmers' local, sustainably-grown herbs for our herb and spice mixtures and handmade products. Sonoma Herb Exchange's mission is to foster respect for the green world and the community through the responsible use and sustainable cultivation of herbs, and we couldn't agree more. We encourage you to shop locally and sustainably when purchasing herbs.
