Ashlee Gansenberg
Ashlee has been a Licensed Massage Therapist since 2005. She specializes in prenatal and postpartum massage as well as Ayurvedic bodywork, and loves to help ease pain or relieve stress with women and the LGBTQ community in other times of their lives. She is a certified prenatal massage therapist and has all the props and pillows to make massage while pregnant and postpartum safe and comfortable at any point during pregnancy, labor or postpartum.
She spent five years working and studying at The Ayurvedic Institute, where she worked in the Pancha Karma Center under world-renowned Ayurvedic physician, Dr. Vasant Lad. She was fortunate to have spent a few of those years studying with Dr. Claudia Welch, author of Balance Your Hormones, Balance Your Life.
As a massage therapist, she enjoys integrating specific deep tissue work for places that need to get unstuck or relieved of pain with more subtle relaxing therapies such as ayurveda, aromatherapy, and cranial therapy, to approach relaxing both the body and the mind holistically. She has worked in multiple top-rated spas in the country, has trained under exceptional teachers and has been honored to be asked to teach, train and mentor other bodyworkers and doulas in ayurvedic bodywork, spa therapies and birthwork in California, New Mexico and New England.
Ashlee is an active doula and lactation counselor and loves educating women, individuals and families on their choices and helping them achieve an empowering birth they can feel good about. She has trained through DONA (2006) and CAPPA (2014). She was trained as Breastfeeding Educator in 2014 and followed up with a more extensive training with The Center for Children's Lactation Counselor program in 2016, and took childbirth education classes and trained with Birthing From Within, Pro Doula as well as multiple CAPPA faculty. She is certified in Rebozo techniques through Gena Kirby and in acupressure specific to pregnancy, birth and postpartum. She has also taken Spinning Babies workshops and classes to learn how optimal fetal positioning in pregnancy and labor can lead to a happy pregnancy and an easier birth.
Ashlee is constantly updating her education with evidence based classes, research and workshops. She has additional training in many modalities including: western and eastern nutrition, anatomy and physiology, yoga, aromatherapy, herbs, homeopathy, fertility and is certified in infant CPR. She enjoys working with women and the LGBTQ community whether in the childbearing years or not to help them feel their best.
When she's not at a birth or supporting postpartum or giving massages, Ashlee enjoys traveling, learning more about women's wellness, writing and being in nature with her puppy.
